I am trying to learn to post photos. This is from our trip to New Orleans. We are aboard the Whisper on Lake Pontchartrain.

I counted 11 nails shops between home and work today, a span of less than five miles.

Tonight, dinner with in-laws due to the father-in-law's birthday and with Leslie's brother and his family. Menu = chicken bundles, green beans wrapped in bacon and baked in brown sugar, red potatoes cooked in a mixture of olive oil, butter, thyme, pepper, and a bunch of other stuff I threw in there when Leslie wasn't watching, some wonderful red, strawberry cake, homemade vanilla, and moo-linium crunch. Then watched Ohio State vs. Texas.

Got a new-to-us fridge today simply due to the ice maker, crushed ice maker to be exact. Leslie has a thing for crushed ice, a serious thing.

Jeb walked around all day, I mean all day, with football shoulder pads. Into the stores, into other people's homes. He fell asleep with the shoulder pads on. He can't wait for Monday night football because of the song. We dance to the song here in the Miller home.

It was about a twenty yard pass. The play called for the quarterback, Cade Stone, to roll to his left or that is at least where he went and what he did. Upfield two receivers were running out patterns, the wide-out a shorter 10 and out, the tight-end a longer 20 and out. The players from the other team, the dreaded Chargers, rushed ferociously and were quickly about to pass up being a nuisance to the quarterback and become a serious danger to him.

The wide-out was covered, double-teamed even although I don't believe that was intentional on the defense's part. In the vicinity of the tight end, there was one defender. However, as the quarterback took on the pressure rolling precariously closer to out of bounds, the tight end broke further up field and further free from the defender.

Cade, the quarterback, saw the opening and lofted a pass that drifted softly into the hands of the tight end. He ran toward the endzone stiff-arming one Charger causing him to collapse to the rough turf in the warm night of this east Texas town.

He ran for the goal, a forty yard foot race he won.

There isn't a much better night in the life of a 7th grader than to catch a pass, his first pass of the year, in the first game of the year, and take it for a touchdown with his teammates running to join him there jumping and slapping on helmets.

He couldn't help but grin as he stood for pictures for mothers who clamored for space to get a snapshot of the buddies.

Cade Stone to Caleb Miller. Touchdown.

It was a fine night. He played cornerback on defense and tight-end on offense.

After the game, the Millers ate at Jason's Deli. Three grilled cheese sandwiches, one Deli Club, and one chicken wrap. Five Ice Creams. Six if you count both of mine.
